MedereaPantheon

Page history last edited by PBworks 6 years, 2 months ago

How exactly the Children of Helios came into being is something of a mystery. Some maintain that they were mortal races who absorbed some of the power of Helios. Others claim they were born of the remains of Helios, while others still claim that they are the essence of Helios. A few even claim to have existed as a contemporaries of Helios whose presence were masked by the power of Helios.

Each of the Children of Helios will be presented as follows:

The Elementals (DR 20)

The Four, The Pillars

Portfolio: Earth, Fire, Air & Water

Domains: Earth, Fire, Air, Water

Divine Realm: Unknown - thought to be a fortress at the heart of the elemental plane where all elements meet.

Allies: None

Enemies: None

Story: The Elementals is one of the more unique entities in the Mederean Pantheon. They/it is the most powerful deity in the pantheon, representing the four primal forces of creation in the universe. They are four, an often act opposing each other (after all, fire and water, air and earth are in perfect opposition) but at the same time they are one, always moving with a unified purpose. Unlike most other deities, whose power is tied to their followers, the Four seem to pull the source of their immense power from elsewhere - likely the elemental planes. As such they do not have extensive followings among mortals - they do not need it, and do not provide much for their church. In the scheme of the cosmos The Elementals are a prime mover, enforcing the will of 'nature' (as they define it) upon the other gods and acting as an overseer god (none of the other deities comes close to the four in terms of divine power).

Typical Followers: All followers of the four are atypical, much like the entity itself. The organized church does not have a large following and despite their immense power The Four do not sponsor many clerics, and even fewer Paladins. Those few that do draw divine power from The Four tends to represent the ideals closely matched with one or more of the four elements - courage with fire, creativity with wind, compassion with water and steadfastness with earth. Those who gain the ability to cast miracles in the name of The Four often report being offered the position by a divine messenger of one of the Four directly. Followers of The Four often favour one of the four aspects over the other three, but they still technically worship all Four.
